            Like Mother Like Daughter

My name is Chelsey DeVore and Im in the 7th grade at Morton
Middle School. Im in the drama club, band, and yearbook club. Im
also part of the student council body and volunteer for my disabled
peers program. My favorite subjects are science, art and of course
lunch. My grades are very important to me. Im currently carrying a
            3.5 grade point average.

I always thought I wanted to be a veterinarian, but now Im thinking
I want to be a welder like my grandpa, mom and dad. I have been
working with my grandpa in his shop since I was 5 years old. He
has taught me some fabrication, grinding and all of the different
processes of welding. TIG is my favorite. I would love to be a welder
for NASA one day. I also like the fact that welders can make a lot of
            money!

It feels weird putting on the auto darkening hood, but I like the
technology that makes it work. I love getting to work with my hands
and getting dirty. I do not like the heat and wearing the heavy
leather jacket. Im also not a fan of getting burnt when I weld.

I cant wait until Im old enough to take welding classes at HIWT
like my grandpa and mom did. Chelsey with mom April Wise our Career Development Coordinator and
